The newest release of System Center 2019 has now been out for about two months, we now have some news regarding the roadmap for System Center for the rest of the year 2019.
System Center 2019 came out on March 14, 2019, I have myself been running it and testing it out ever since, and I am overall pleased!
The seventh Update Rollup came out for System Center 2016 on April 23, 2019 which includes many fixes for the previous release of System Center, if you’ve missed it, you can read all about it in m previous blog post over here.
This is a lot of updates for such a short time, but how will the rest of the year of 2019 look like for the System Center suite?
Here’s the current roadmap as of writing this blog post (2019-05-10):
As we can see, the first Update Rollup for the recently released System Center 2019 is estimated to be released in Q3 of 2019.
While the previous System Center 2016 will receive yet another Update Rollup (eight) at the end of year in Q4 of 2019.
This is a of of new things and things to come for the year of 2019, but remember that both the System Center 2016 and System Center 2019 products are Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) versions, which means that they will receive an Update Rollup regularly about every half year.
If you want to read more about the LTSC of System Center, you’ll find more information here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/system-center/ltsc-and-sac-overview
The roadmap really helps us plan ahead, the PDF link with the roadmap is a very good information source, so I recommend bookmarking it!
